The bunkhouse is notable for being a family-centric style of RV based on the stacked beds that are often towards the rear of the RV. These make for excess sleeping areas so even those with larger families can expect to have more than enough space for everyone to lay their heads.

In the bunkhouse, you have the sleeping area in the front as well as the bunk areas, so in most cases, you can sleep four to eight people easily without anyone feeling crowded in the least. What is great about bunkhouses like these is that the bunking areas are often tucked into one corner of the RV, consolidating the space

The Coachmen Catalina bunkhouse has two over sized shelves in the rear, for instance, that not only allow for a comfortable seating space, but is also more fashionable than the standard bedding area found in some travel trailers. With the Catalina models, there is also a convertible sofa area that allows for even more sleeping, just in case you have an especially large family. The Freedom Express, on the other hand, has a more segregated floor plan, allowing for more privacy with the bunk beds tucked in one of the corners, allowing for everyone to have their own space when on the road.
